Kristine De Jesus Headshot

Kristine De Jesus, Psy.D.

Executive Director

Dr Kristine De Jesus is the Executive Director and Founder of Students Recover. As a Sugarman Fellow at Princeton University, Kristine had the opportunity to concentrate on bringing together her passions for supporting students in recovery and developing accessible systems of care.

Prior to founding Students Recover, Dr De Jesus served as the Coordinator of the Alcohol and Other Drugs program at Montclair State University, where her work focused on supporting students in the Red Hawk Recovery program and at Temple University as the Educational Coordinator of the Campus Alcohol Substance Awareness (CASA) program. Dr. De Jesus holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Rutgers University, where she majored in Psychology. She completed a Masters of Arts degree in Organizational Behavior from Alliant International University (2003), and received a Doctorate of Psychology degree from the California School of Professional Psychology.

Majora Carter

Advisor to Students Recover

Majora Carter is an urban revitalization strategy consultant, MacArthur Fellow, Peabody Award winning broadcaster, author and real estate developer. She’s responsible for the creation of numerous economic development, technology inclusion & green-infrastructure projects and policies focused on transforming low-status communities by working in partnership with local government, businesses, and neighborhood organizations, to create new opportunities for wellness, recreation, and economic development. Carter is also a lecturer at Princeton University’s Keller Center for Innovation.

Tim Rabolt

Advisor to Students Recover

Tim is a Communications Strategist for JBS International, primarily working for the RCORP-TA Contract (Rural Communities Opioid Response Program- Technical Assistance). He previously served as the Executive Director for the Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE) as well as a Project Manager for Altarum, a Washington, D.C. based research and consulting firm. He holds strong competencies in nonprofit management, media and communications, strategic planning, and a variety of other skillsets rooted in business administration. Tim lives with his wife, Kelly, and his daughter, Nina in Wisconsin. He has been in recovery from addiction since April of 2011 during his senior year of high school in Wilmington, DE.

Aaron Kucharski

Advisor to Students Recover

Aaron Kucharski has been a grassroots advocate for causes like the environment, labor, and addiction recovery, and issues impacting young people since 1997. Today, his focus is with and for people with housing or health insecurities. He is an author and musician, and has been in recovery since September 6th of 2003. He is currently the Grassroots Coordinator for Mobilize Recovery and the Recovery Advocacy Project.

Join Our
Community

Students Recover provides the first online recovery community specifically developed to support post-secondary students recovering from substance use and other mental health issues. We provide a culturally responsive community grounded in the science of harm reduction by hosting mutual aid groups and social spaces for students to come together and support each other and build community on their journey to wellness.
