Students Recover seeks to create a radically inclusive environment that honors the inherent worth and value of every person.  We strive to create a welcoming space to recover, embracing students of every race, ethnicity, creed, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, immigration and arrest status. In pursuit of equity, justice and belonging, we embrace our differences and cultivate a community dedicated to restorative justice and liberation. 

Mission

To provide an online recovery community grounded in equity, justice that promotes the self-determination of  post-secondary school students in/seeking recovery. 

Vision

To reduce health and academic disparities and increase the successful matriculation of students in recovery that attend minority serving institutions, community colleges and trade schools that do not offer collegiate recovery programs.

Equity

The Students Recover platform is an online recovery platform that provides support in a diverse and inclusive space to help students heal and grow. Programming is tailored to affinity groups, pathways to recovery, and interests to decrease barriers to access and increase a sense belonging and community.

Justice

Students Recover is dedicated to providing support to those communities disproportionately impacted by the War on Drugs, including students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges, Hispanic Serving Institutions, Community Colleges and Trade Schools.

Campus Chapters

Students Recover is developing a network of campus chapters committed to destigmatizing recovery and ensuring that recovery support services are grounded in equity, justice and self-determination. Help be part of the recovery revolution.

Students Recover programming will include (but is not limited to):

  • Mutual aid meetings (culturally responsive, multiple pathways oriented)
  • Social programming (game nights, workshops, arts-oriented events)
  • Peer recovery support (recovery coaching, peer mentoring)
  • Self-care exercises (meditation, yoga, group fitness)
  • Leadership and advocacy training (seminars, education, and development)
  • Students Recover Campus Chapters (student-led campus chapters supporting recovery)
